AUSTIN, Texas - PrZen -- Gembah, an Austin-based product design and development company, announces huge growth in 2020 over 2019, fueled by the booming eCommerce industry. Gembah's revenue increased 512% year-over-year as the company has experienced a three-fold growth in total customers and more than quadrupled its number of SKUs under management in 2020.
From product research and design to sourcing global manufacturers and managing logistics, Gembah's platform and network of experts, empower customers to develop and get new products into the hands of consumers faster. Gembah leverages a network of its own vetted industrial designers, mechanical and electrical engineers, and its sophisticated technology platform to connect clients with the data and people required to efficiently and cost-effectively bring products to market.
"eCommerce sellers, small-to-midsize businesses, and entrepreneurs recognize that the key to building and sustaining a valuable business is to find or build products that people actually want," says Henrik Johansson, co-founder and CEO at Gembah. "The challenge for them has been figuring out how to do so while managing all of the risks associated with bringing a new product to market. Gembah's platform and network of experts fills that niche, combining best practices workflow with a highly specialized team, identified and assembled specifically for each customer project. The Gembah team becomes an extension of the customers' team, with product development experts helping them analyze research to identify opportunities, and partner with them throughout the entire product development journey so they consistently have the resources they need to find, design, source, build, and deliver the most viable products time after time."
Gembah helps both B2B and B2C companies create a wide variety of new products designed for an evolving world. Recent examples reflect shifting product trends due to Covid, and include a smart locker to streamline no-touch package delivery and retrieval, a fashionable hand sanitizer brand with a consumer version now selling at Nordstrom, and a stylish B2B sanitizer station for high-end retail and hospitality industry.
Gembah investors include Silverton Partners, ATX Venture Partners, and Capital Factory. "The demand for new products has never been greater, and with non-store retailing growth at nearly 80% in 2020, opportunities are everywhere," says Kip McClanahan, general partner at Silverton Partners. "Like us, Gembah's primary focus is to partner with entrepreneurs and businesses that are dedicated to tackling growth markets and building lasting companies. Gembah's growth numbers are proof that they are doing things right - both in their operating model and their solutions offering. We are excited to see them accelerate into 2021."
