Toronto Actor Cast in Two Upcoming Netflix Productions Relaunches Portrait Studio Under Rare City-Specific Brand — Portraits. To

Matthew Bennett brings two decades of on-camera experience to downtown Toronto's only actor-run portrait studio — now operating under one of the city's most distinctive domain names
TORONTO - PrZen -- Matthew Bennett, a veteran of Canadian film and television whose career spans over two decades, has officially relaunched his downtown Toronto portrait studio under a bold new brand identity: Portraits.To.
Located at 366 Adelaide St. East, the studio previously operated under the Matthew Bennett Photography banner. The transition to Portraits. To emphasizes the studio's most compelling asset: the "Actor Behind the Lens." By merging Bennett's extensive on-camera experience with technical mastery, the studio offers a psychological approach to portraiture unique within the GTA.
What distinguishes Portraits. To is Bennett's professional pedigree. With credits including Doc, Law & Order Toronto, Battlestar Galactica, Orphan Black, and Cold Squad—plus two upcoming Netflix productions—Bennett understands the industry from the inside out.
Having navigated over a thousand auditions, Bennett brings a performer's nuanced understanding of presence and emotional direction to every session. Unlike photographers who focus solely on lighting, Bennett utilizes improvisation and real-time expression reading to help clients shed their "camera mask."
"Most photographers tell you where to look," says Bennett. "I work like a director—I'm reading your face and looking for the moment when something genuine happens. Everything else is just a photo."
This approach has earned the studio 100 consecutive five-star Google reviews. Many testimonials come from veteran actors and high-level executives who found Bennett's method uniquely transformative compared to standard headshot sessions.
The choice of Portraits. To was driven by simplicity. The ".TO" domain serves as digital shorthand for Toronto, providing immediate geographic identity. "Portraits. To is two words and a dot," Bennett explains. "It says exactly where we are and what we do."
The relaunch includes a digital overhaul with a new website and pricing for everyone from emerging artists to corporate leadership. Portraits. To serves three groups: actors seeking casting-ready headshots; executives requiring high-end LinkedIn imagery; and creatives seeking a distinct visual voice.
Sessions are available seven days a week at the Adelaide Street studio. Packages range from a $225 "Intro" session to an $825 "Editorial Half-Day." All sessions include professional direction and high-end retouching.
