The Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) is SEBAC's 2023 Award for Excellence winner
PrZen/33524216
WASHINGTON - PrZen -- The Small Environmental Business Action Coalition (SEBAC) is pleased to announce Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) as the recipient of the 2023 Award for Excellence. SEBAC presents the award to recognize a federal agency's demonstrated commitment to small environmental business.
Procurement data researched by industry analysts GovSpend + Fedmine was evaluated based on the number and quality of agency procurements and the agency's overall commitment to small businesses.
In addition to the procurement data, the recipient of the Award for Excellence was evaluated based on the agency's ability to meet or exceed fiscal year projected goals, the agency's quality and quantity of small business awards, and the agency's overall improvement.
"We are pleased to recognize Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command for its strong support of small environmental businesses as demonstrated by the quantity and quality of small business prime contracts," said SEBAC President John Dwyer.
SEBAC recognizes NAVFAC for acknowledging the strength of the environmental small business community by setting aside major contracts, such as single award and multiple award environmental compliance and remedial action contracts.
For fiscal year 2023, the Navy as a whole far exceeded the Small Business Administration's statutory goal of 23% by awarding 100% of prime contractor dollars in NAICS codes 562910 and 541620 to small businesses.
Mr. Dwyer and Award for Excellence Chairperson Monica Cooper will present the award at the Society of American Military Engineers Small Business Conference during SEBAC's Networking Reception and Award Presentation Wednesday, November 1, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in The Lonesome Dove Room at the Henry B. González Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas.
Sponsors of the networking reception are Arrowhead Contracting, ATI, Environmental Research Group, H&L Environmental Services, Hilltop Environmental Solutions, I.C.E. Service Group, KEMRON Environmental Services, Princeton Hydro, Renova Environmental Company, Strategic Packaging Systems, Scout Environmental and Sundance Consulting. Smith Manus Surety Bonds, an agency specializing in environmental, construction, and specialty bonds for all industries, is the major sponsor of the Networking Reception and the Award for Excellence.
The event is open to the public. For more information about the Award for Excellence, visit the About Us page at www.sebac.org. To RSVP for the Award Presentation and Networking Reception, send an e-mail to sebac@sebac.org.
SEBAC was formed to act as a unifying voice for addressing issues that face small environmental businesses nationwide. Membership is open to small businesses primarily engaged in the environmental industry with 1000 or fewer employees. Member companies perform environmental investigations, design, engineering, remediation, operations and maintenance, and ordinance and explosives work for federal agencies and commercial businesses.
