New forensic request platform streamlines communication between agencies and forensics labs

Monolith Forensics launches Relay, a platform that allows forensic lab partners to submit and manage requests for forensic services
CEDAR PARK, Texas - PrZen -- Monolith Forensics, a digital forensics technology company, has released Relay, a new forensic request platform to help forensic lab partners communicate requests and information to forensics labs. Relay allows police agencies and other organizations to easily submit requests for forensic services and track the progress of those requests in one portal.
"A typical case has a large number of digital evidence items that need to be analyzed by a forensic lab," said Matt Danner, Founder & CEO of Monolith Forensics. "Managing the influx of requests can be challenging both for forensic labs and the partners they work with, so we designed Relay to make the forensic request process easier for everyone involved."
Relay's easy-to-use interface provides a quick way to see every forensic request a user has submitted, as well as the request forms for the various labs or agencies the user works with—all in one place.
New requests are submitted via a simple form that allows users to add details about the request, associated documentation (such as a search warrant), and the individual evidence items being submitted for analysis. All data is stored and searchable within the platform, so it can be easily referenced later.
After a request is made, users are able to quickly see the status of the request from Relay's dashboard. Each request's status is updated by the forensics team as it moves through the forensic process. Any time the status is updated, users receive a notification email so they are always aware of the progress of their request.
Forensic requests accepted by the lab populate with additional information about the work conducted by the forensics team. This information includes: case information, which forensic analyst working on the request, the status & progress of evidence items in the request, evidence photos taken by the lab, evidence data collection information, and chain of custody information. This makes it easy to keep track of all pending requests and their progress at a glance.
The Relay platform simplifies the forensic request process, allowing lab partners to easily submit and manage requests for forensic services in one easy-to-use portal. For more information or to request a demo, visit monolithforensics.com.
