International Law Group Expands Emergency Immigration Consultations for Somali Minnesotans Amid ICE Actions
PrZen/33602790
U.S. immigration law firm offers rapid Zoom consultations, weekend availability, and immediate legal guidance for Somali refugees under increased federal scrutiny, especially ICE.
MINNEAPOLIS - PrZen -- U.S. immigration law firm International Law Group (ILG) announced that it has expanded on-demand immigration consultations via Zoom for Somali individuals and families in Minnesota, with availability during early mornings, evenings, and weekends, in response to stepped-up federal immigration enforcement activity.
Federal agencies, including the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), recently confirmed the rollout of Operation PARRIS (Post-Admission Refugee Reverification and Integrity Strengthening) in Minnesota. The program involves enhanced background screenings, renewed interviews, and in-depth reviews of refugee cases, with matters flagged for potential fraud or other concerns being referred to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Authorities have indicated that the effort is initially centered on approximately 5,600 Minnesota refugees who have not yet obtained lawful permanent resident (green card) status.
"These developments are unsettling for many refugees and asylees who believed their cases were already settled," said Terik Hashmi, senior attorney at International Law Group. "The key is to stay calm but proactive. Getting informed legal advice early can significantly affect outcomes. We are stepping in quickly to review notices, explain rights, and help clients prepare appropriately."
International Law Group provides assistance including:
Mike Meier, senior immigration attorney with the firm, added, "All consultations are confidential and offered outside standard business hours, including weekends, to accommodate urgent needs. Somali community members in Minnesota who have received government notices or who are concerned about their immigration status should seek legal guidance without delay."
