Dr. John Robert Lovett and wife Sandy, long-time supporters of CIS Eastern PA, will be honored with the achievement at the organization's October 40th anniversary celebration.
ALLENTOWN, Pa. - PrZen -- Communities in Schools of Eastern PA (CISEasternPA) will honor Dr. John Robert (Bob) Lovett and his wife Sandy Lovett with the 2023 Lifetime Champion of Education Award on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at the Building Bright Futures 40th Anniversary Celebration. This award recognizes individuals for excellence in education services as well as support and collaboration with the organization.
The Lovetts firmly believe in the importance and value of education and opportunities to succeed in school for children in Allentown. Their total donation to CISEasternPA over 21 years is approaching $400,000. Their continued commitment has been instrumental in keeping countless students in school and on track for graduation. Mr. Lovett previously served as a member of the CISEasternPA board of directors for several years and remains a trusted advisor to those within the organization. Though they are now retired, they have not lessened any of their financial or time contributions. They continue to serve the Lehigh Valley community as exemplary role models and showcase their passion for science, education, and the arts for local youth.
"We are absolutely thrilled to present our very first Lifetime Champion of Education award to Bob and Sandy Lovett," said CIS Eastern PA President & CEO Tim Mulligan. 'In our agency's first 40 years, Bob and Sandy stand out as leaders who have advanced our mission in profound ways. They've helped us establish the organizational foundation that has allowed us to bring transformational change to the lives of over a quarter million students and families in the communities of Eastern Pennsylvania since 1983."
The Lovetts will be honored at the Building Bright Futures 40th Anniversary Celebration on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at Olympus Corporation of the Americas. Information, tickets, and sponsorship opportunities can be found here.
Outside of their support of CISEasternPA, the Lovetts have continuously lifted educational causes. Mr. Lovett has served as a trustee of Cedar Crest and Ursinus Colleges, a board member of the Baum School of Art, and the Allentown Neighborhood Investment Zone Development Authority, to name a few. Mrs. Lovett has served on gala committees at Allentown Art Museum and has been an active member of their Society of the Arts. They are outstanding supporters of Da Vinci Science Center, where they have contributed over $1 million since its inception and served on its board and gala committees.
