Apollo Career Center Offering Training Programs to Obtain CDA

Council for Professional Recognition
WASHINGTON - Dec. 14, 2017 - PrZen -- A newly formed strategic partnership between the Council for Professional Recognition (the Council) and Apollo Career Center (ACC) agrees two distinct educational training programs will be provided for individuals seeking to earn a Child Development Associate (CDA®) Credential.

The first program includes 120 hours of educational training hours in the form of early childhood education courses required to earn a CDA. The second program combines the 120 hours of educational training with the Council's CDA requirement of 480 hours of practical experience in a paid or unpaid setting at an early childhood education center.

"Our strategic partnership with Apollo Career Center benefits CDA candidates and students who wish to enter the field of early childhood education because they can obtain quality training and required competencies needed to become a successful early childhood educator," said Valora Washington, chief executive officer, the Council for Professional Recognition.

In addition, this partnership will identify and share opportunities to expand ACC's and the Council's collaboration with other early childhood organizations within the state.
