Acclaimed visual artist Tetpwav Solèy launches art clothing line, Koleksyn

Visual and spoken word artist Tetpwav Solèy is branching into clothing design with his new line, Koleksyn, due to launch on July 7th.
COLUMBIA, Md. - PrZen -- Once an artist, always an artist, often across many different mediums. Acclaimed spoken word vocalist and visual artist Tetpwav Solèy is branching into clothing design as he prepares to launch his clothing line, Koleksyn, on Friday, July 7.
Solèy created the word Koleksyn as the name for his clothing line, giving it the meaning "collect what you have seen." Kolek comes from the Haitian language of Creole, meaning to collect, and syn is a prefix from American English meaning united, acting, or considered together.
After seeing his work hang in galleries from Pepco Edison Place in Washington, D.C., to Art Basel in Miami, Fla., Solèy decided to explore putting his art on a clothing line. The clothing, designed for men and women, features everything from shirts, shorts, and stylish jogging pants one might wear to a club to shoes and bathing suits.
"I was curious to see how my art would look on clothing and the way the energy of my images vibrates when in movement," Solèy explains. He believes that visual art is an amazing open secret that creates a personal connection between the imagery and the thoughts those images create in the mind of the viewer.
The artist is pleased with the way the clothing has turned out. "My images worn on clothing offer a unique way to experience my art and bring to life the work created from my soul."
While Solèy's clothing line will initially be available only online, he has plans to open a brick-and-mortar store in the near future. Additionally, Solèy travels to promote his work, participating in pop-up vending and other positive, uplifting events nationwide. He announces these appearances on his websites, as well as via his social media platforms.
Originally from Haiti, Solèy has lived in the US for 23 years, 20 of them as a professional artist. His eye-catching work has been described as cultural and (r)evolutionary.
Solèy was originally inspired by his friend, Allwich Moca, also from Haiti. "He is a profoundly talented artist who has the ability to uplift your spirit and help you discover your own creativity to find value in yourself," Solèy says of Moca.
Solèy plans to continue to create and develop new clothing designs as he and his company learn, grow, and evolve in their creativity. Solèy's goal with all forms of his art – from visual art to recording to clothing – is to speak the language of his culture.
Solèy's website, http://Koleksyn.com, goes live on July 7.
